Personal trainer in Fitzroy, Melbourne

Who personal training at Sharpe Athletic is for

Most of our personal training clients are adults between 35 and 65 living or working in Fitzroy, Collingwood, Clifton Hill, or the wider inner north. They’re not chasing a transformation or a six-week challenge. They want to get stronger, fix old injuries, and train consistently for the next twenty years.

The common thread is what we call life-ready strength. Mobility, and resilience to run, hike, keep up with your kids, handle a stressful week, and age well without getting injured. That’s the job. Everything we do is built around it.

If you want group class energy, a CrossFit community, or the cheapest gym in the area, we’re not for you. If you want to be coached properly in a space that respects your time, keep reading.

What’s included in every personal training session

Every client starts with a 45-minute initial consult. You’ll walk through your goals, your training history, any injuries or niggles you’re managing, and what you want training to do for your life. Your coach uses that conversation plus a full movement and strength assessment to build your program from the ground up.

From there, your weekly sessions are 1:1 with the same coach. The programme progresses as you do. Every session is written specifically for you, not pulled off a template.

What you get:

  • Weekly 1:1 personal training sessions with an experienced coach
  • Full movement and strength assessment
  • Goal setting and injury history screening
  • Individualised programming that progresses week to week
  • Discounted gym membership with 24/7 access to the floor
  • Full use of the private recovery room, sauna and ice bath

Integrated physio, not bolted on

Most adults in our target age range have niggles, old injuries, or histories that need managing around. That’s why Athletic Soul Rehab, an independent physiotherapy practice operates from the Sharpe Athletic facility. If your coach and your physio need to talk, they’re in the same building.

This integration is structural, not incidental. Strength training and rehab are designed to work together, so you’re not managing two disconnected practitioners who’ve never met. Learn more about physiotherapy at Sharpe Athletic.

Recovery is part of the program

The private recovery room at the front of the facility houses a sauna and an ice bath. Access is included with every personal training membership. It’s not a wellness add-on, contrast therapy sits inside the training programme your coach writes for you, used where and when it actually helps.

Pricing

Personal training sessions are $120 per session (45 minutes). Most clients train once or twice per week. 2:1 sessions are available if you’d prefer to train with a partner.

Gym membership is discounted when bundled with personal training, giving you full access to the 150sqm gym floor and the recovery room between your coached sessions.
